The Nova Scotia Energy and Regulatory Boards Tribunal is an independent body that, on April 1, 2025, succeeded the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board. It was created under the Energy and Regulatory Boards Act.
The Tribunal provides advisory, administrative, and human resource support to the Nova Scotia Energy Board and the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board. Those Boards were established as distinct operating divisions of the Tribunal to make the regulation process in Nova Scotia more efficient by separating energy-related matters from other regulatory and adjudicative matters.
