⚠️ ALERT: There are phone calls being made and ads circulating on social media that falsely claim to offer efficiency rebates and electricity credits. These communications pretend to be associated with the Nova Scotia Energy Board and may request personal contact information. They are not legitimate.

The Board is an independent regulator and does not advertise, promote, or endorse programs offered by utilities or third parties. Information from the Board is communicated through its official channels.

Here is a sample of one of the fake ads:

If you receive a suspicious phone call or come across these ads (or similar) online, please:

  • End the call immediately
  • Do not engage with the posts (this includes reposting/sharing or commenting on the ad)
  • Report the ad on the platform where you see it and/or to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC)
  • Do not provide any personal information
